Describe the person, not just the phone
A budgeting app benefits from people who regularly track expenses; a vocabulary app needs learners who can judge the exercises. Write down your audience, supported Android versions, and any accessibility needs. Recruit around those characteristics before filling remaining device gaps.
Send a useful invitation
Explain the purpose of the test, its expected duration, the account needed to join, and where feedback goes. State whether compensation is offered and what it covers. Do not ask for a favourable public rating. Let participants decline before you plan around their availability.
Check readiness individually
Ask each volunteer to confirm they can access the test and complete the first task. Maintain a private roster with consent, device details, and availability. If somebody cannot join, resolve the account or device problem before marking their invitation complete.
