Freeze the assumptions
In this fictional exercise, a developer notices that one participant has opted out. The first action is to inspect the remaining participation history, not promise that the original completion date still holds. Preserve the time and source of the observation so the team works from the same facts.
Check the remaining cohort
Determine whether enough people still satisfy the required continuous history. A new volunteer may help future coverage but cannot supply days they never completed. Use Play Console to establish eligibility and update the internal forecast if the remaining group is insufficient.
Improve the recovery process
Ask the departing participant whether an access problem, scheduling issue, or product failure contributed. Fix anything actionable and make future commitments clearer. Keep the incident note factual: cause if known, impact, response, and the next verification point. Do not describe this example as a proven recovery result.
